This past weekend, we went horseback riding at Five Brooks Ranch in Point Reyes National Seashore. It was a perfect fall day – sunny, but crisp and cool, and Daisy and Houdina {our horses} took us on a two-hour ride through what felt like an enchanted forest. Strangely famished after our ride, we decided to drive up the coast to Marshall General Store on Tomales Bay for some post-ride oysters and sancerre. I loved how timeless the store felt, as if it hadn’t changed at all throughout its 136-year existence. We ordered two types of oysters – BBQ, with garlic butter and the special house sauce, and the “Kilpatricks”, with bacon and Worcestershire sauce. A perfect lunch in absolutely stunning surroundings.
