Bonjour de la Normandie! On Saturday we arrived in Normandy via train from the Gare St. Lazare in Paris. Matt’s parents, Bridget and Trevor, live in a tiny hamlet called Le Forestel in the village of St. Denis-le-Vetu. Their home is a beautiful farmhouse originally built in the 18th century with walls that are 3 feet thick and lovely bright blue windowpanes. I fell in love with their home the first time Matt described it in an email early on in our courtship – he said it was so peacefully quiet here that sometimes while lying in bed you could hear the sound of cows munching on grass. The reality of how stunningly beautiful this place is far exceeds every image my mind could conjure up. And Bridget and Trevor are the most wonderful hosts. We are so very lucky to be their guests here.
