roadside fruit stand

As we were driving down the Silverado Trail, I spotted the most charming little roadside fruit stand and pleaded with Matt to flip a U-turn so that my food obsessed self could investigate further.  It looked like it had been there for decades, weathering storms, intense heat and offering fresh produce to a multitude of wine tasting tourists.  And it had the most beautiful, seasonal fruits and vegetables, making me realize how lucky I am to live in a place of such natural abundance.  Summer squash, fava beans, tomatoes on the vine, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, rainier cherries, peaches and fresh eggs.  I loved everything about this little stand – the simplicity, the quality of the produce and the timelessness…

It was so charming. I loved it! I especially loved that they had fresh eggs…It reminds me of something you might see in the Hamptons (not that I have been, but from what I gather watching Barefoot Contessa – ha!) xoxo
